Embed a Calendar

Does your organization use a calendar outside of iMIS? Do you need to show other schedules, meetings, events not created in iMIS? We will show you how to display an external calendar within your iMIS site.

In this tip, you will embed a calendar URL into a content page. For example, Office365 lets you copy a public URL to your calendar that can be used for embedding. However some calendar providers, such as Google, have a feature to get the exact embed code that you can copy and paste within your HTML page. If this is the case, for step 6 paste the code you have received from your calendar provider instead of the code mentioned and skip to step 9.

1. Go to RiSE > Manage Content > Page Builder.

2. Locate and double click on the page where the calendar should display or create a new content page.

3. Click ‘Add content’.

4. Select the Content HTML iPart and click ‘Ok’.

5. Click the HTML tab towards the bottom of the window (Next to the ‘Design’ tab).

6. Copy and paste this code into the window.
<iframe src=”x” width=”1000″ height=”750″>Your browser does not support the embedded content. Please go to <a href=”x”></a> to view this content in a new browser window</p></iframe>

7. Replace the ‘x’ for the ‘src=’ and ‘href=’ values with the URL provided by your calendar provider. Note that the ‘href’ value will only be used when a browser does not support the content and at that point the message will appear that the calendar is not compatible.

8. Edit the width and height of the calendar as needed by editing the width and height values in the code. *Size is based on pixel size. Calendars come in different sizes, so width and height may need adjusting to best fit within a web page. If you would like to preview the calendar, click the ‘Design’ tab and the calendar should display like the below.

9. Save and publish the content page.

You can now display your organization’s full calendar within your iMIS site. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also use the same steps mentioned above to embed other content such as a video, another web page, and more.
